Hi Everybody!


Have you ever seen the reality t.v. show, "Wife Swap" on Monday nights on ABC? ( It's not what it sounds like.) It's a show where the object is to try to find two families in the country with polar opposite lifestyles, and the wives are sent to the other family's household, where they spend two weeks trying to change the habits of that family to conform with that of their own.

Well, our son, Scott and his wife Melissa have been chosen to be one of the two families featured on that show which is scheduled to air January 15th at 8 pm, on the ABC network.

Our daughter-in-law, Melissa, is a physical fitness guru with a regimented diet and daily workout routine, supervised by her professional trainer. This past September in Columbus, Ohio, she won the national title of "Miss Fitness USA" taking first place over more than 250 other competitors, and as a result, her victorious picture appeared in a magazine with the caption, "Fit Bodies" and her story with photos also appeared on the internet.

The producers of the show "Wife Swap" saw this and contacted Melissa, requesting an interview at her home to meet with and interview her entire family. When the t.v. staff arrived, they saw that Scott was also an avid body builder, and is a corrections officer at the Marion, Ohio prison. Since he is also the prison's S.W.A.T. team instructor, total physical fitness is absolutely mandatory. Their three sons, ages 13, 12 and 10 are all very active year round in many sports including baseball, football and wrestling, and all three have won trophies in their respective sports.

In addition to this, Scott and Melissa are both "neatniks" who keep an immaculate house, so they were readily offered an episode on the show, not knowing that the other family had already been chosen. That other family turned out to be a slovenly family of dwarfs from a slum area outside of Detroit, Michigan.

That untidy Detroit housewife (who abhors sports of any kind) was sent to Scott's home in Upper Sandusky, Ohio for two weeks, while Melissa was sent to the other family's dwelling, which turned out to be a hovel with bars on the windows! Both wives had the mission of trying to change the other family's lifestyle to suit her own. A camera crew followed them all around for the entire two weeks. Why would they all agree to do this, you may ask? Both families are being compensated $20,000.00 for their 2- week ordeal and inconvenience.

It should make for an interesting show though, so mark it on your calendar, and tune in for

"Wife Swap" on Monday, January 15th at 8 pm on ABC to see what our little Scotty looks like now!!
